It’s back to work on my own music after a fun weekend checking out the Rick Springfield show at the Emerald Queen Casino. He put on one hell of a show for being 62 years old. It gave me a ton of inspiration to get my latest music finished up and out there. Many of you either don’t know or don’t believe me that Rick was one of my main influences since I was little to write and play music. It was fantastic to see him and remain inspired to create.
Vocals For Rick Springfield Record
I was really excited yesterday to record vocals for the chorus of a Rick Springfield song. I know it’s a cheesy little contest that anyone can enter, but I’ve been a fan of his for 30 years and having a little part on a record of his is totally cool in my book! Now we’ll see if I’ll even be able to hear myself anywhere on it when it comes out. Either way, good times! Here’s a link to my submitted video…
A Personal Message From Todd
As many of you already know, I work part time at my son’s elementary school in between recording with the Steel Toe Mafia and my own projects. Recently there was a terrible tragedy involving two young children, one who attended first grade in our school.
Needless to say, the last few days have been extremely difficult for everyone in our school and the entire community. I have had a very hard time dealing with and accepting the fact that something like this could happen, let alone to a child I knew and played with almost daily at recess.
For the next few days, I’m going to avoid the social media and news sites on the Internet as much as possible. New information about the case being released daily and people arguing about this information is not helping our grieving process. Here is my Facebook post from yesterday:
Okay… Enough is enough!
I’m seriously having social and news media sensory overload. We can all point fingers but ultimately the ONLY one to blame is their dad for this horrific crime.
Those of us who were directly involved with the Powell and Cox families are having a really hard time with everything, only to have additional information released daily adding additional emotions to the ones that we already can’t control or contain… We’re human. We are just trying to accept this.
With that said, I’m signing off of Facebook for a few days or more to get my life back and my head straight with all of this…
I would like to thank everyone for their support and concerns for me as I work this through. Your messages, posts and texts have meant the world to me! I’m going to lose myself in my music and get some releases out there… For me, and for you to enjoy. Take care.
